Get Started: Develop a Work Plan

A work plan is an essential tool to help guide your community's process. Given many people will be involved, clarity is helpful. At each stage in the work plan, it is suggested you determine:

  • Who will participate?
  • Who will lead?
  • What type of process will be used?
  • What type of outputs are we striving for?
  • What forms of education, engagement, communication, monitoring and learning?
  • How much time and how many resources are needed?

It is important to note that your work plan needs to be flexible to accomodate busy schedules and allow for the introduction of new information that may alter a previous decision.

To give you an idea of the types of activities that took place in Kimberley and Elkford during their climate change adaptation planning processes, a timeline for each community is below. Remember, every community is different, so activities and timelines will vary from one place to the next. We include these below as a rough guideline.
