Learn about Climate Change: Communicate the Science

CBT's Communities Adapting to Climate Change Initiative does not attempt to convince or teach people that climate change is real. Given the widespread scientific agreement on a changing climate, the initiative seeks to identify the potential impacts of climate change and what adaptation could look like at a local level.
Kimberley provided a "Climate Change 101" workshop to local residents because their project was heavily based on community support and involvement (see Investigate Potential Impacts). Elkford's process was led by a team of consultants who did the majority of the research and work, so educating the whole community at all stages of the adaptation process was not viewed as essential to them. It is up to the local coordinator or consultant in your community, along with the local steering committee, to determine what tools and information your community will need.
